Have you thought about what you want in the ideal learning environment for your child? Of course you have! You have likely spent hours thinking about how you want your child to spend their foundational educational years.
Are you looking for a vibrant environment where plants, animals and children thrive? Are you looking for a school where your child’s interests will become the jumping off point for a life-long love of learning, guided by dedicated professionals who know and respect each individual? Are you searching for a community that stimulates curiosity, encourages kindness, and provides a safe place to experiment, explore, and experience early childhood into adolescence? Escuela del Sol Montessori School is that place.
Our dynamic urban campus boasts space to spread out and grow, where chickens and rabbits live happily alongside neighborhood creatures, classroom pets and curious children. Students grow food and get to taste the fruits and vegetables of their labor. They plant flowers and get to watch as they bloom.
Each classroom is intentionally prepared to stimulate growth and meet the needs of that particular age group. In this way, we optimize learning opportunities that may be unique to that developmental cycle, such as language acquisition for young children, social development for elementary-aged children, personal dignity and social justice for the adolescent.
As New Mexico’s first Montessori school to be accredited by the American Montessori Society, our Early Childhood, Elementary and Jr. High time-tested curriculum is designed to nurture creative thinking, communication, collaboration and self-discipline, and to help each child achieve academic excellence. Our program includes Spanish, art, and music and performance studio classes that encourage self-expression and give our students freedom to explore their creativity.
Every one of our fantastic lead teachers is Montessori trained, dedicated and experienced. Our teachers have over 200 years of combined Montessori experience! That’s a lot of learning! And many members of our faculty and staff – and even some of our parents – are Escuela alumni who have come back to be part of our community, and have brought their children back “home” to learn at the Montessori school that shaped the way they experience and interact with the world around them.
Escuela del Sol Montessori School offers all of that and so much more! We are now accepting applications for the 2021-22 school year for Early Childhood (ages 18 mos-6 years), Elementary (grades 1-6) and Jr. High (grades 7-9). Contact us to schedule a personal Zoom visit with opportunities to talk more about the learning opportunities awaiting your child at Escuela.
